Russell Westbrook has been proving critics and doubters wrong throughout the entirety of the 2016-17 season. It comes at no surprise that he's been able to change some of his peers' minds as well.

“He put his stamp on it tonight,” Milwaukee Bucks shooting guard Jason Terry told beat writer Fred Katz following a 110-79 blowout loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder on Tuesday. “He is the MVP. There is no question. I had Harden all year long, but after witnessing it up close and personal, how can you not give it to a guy who has accomplished such a feat?”

“I mean, he earned it. He really went and took it.”

Westbrook's numbers weren't eye-popping in that game to any degree, but he had given his team a vast lead, clinching his 41st triple-double of the season with more than half of the third quarter left. He finished with a 12-13-13 line in just 27 minutes on the floor, only to follow up on his rampant run with a 45-9-10 effort in a win against the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday.

Terry has seen plenty of NBA talent throughout his 18 years in the league and this MVP race has been as close as they get. The soon-to-be 40-year-old was witness to Westbrook's all-around effort despite only seeing 13 minutes off the bench, though it proved enough to change his mind on who should hold the MVP trophy in the weeks to come.
