Jeff Hornacek was recently interviewed for the New York Knicks‘ vacant head coaching position, according to a Marc Stein report.

The former head coach of the Phoenix Suns joins a growing list of potential candidates for the head coaching gig in New York, as Kurt RambisDavid Blatt, and recently fired Frank Vogel have all been rumored to be on Phil Jackson and the Knicks' radar in their highly-publicized search.

Hornacek was fired by the Suns in February after Phoenix started the season with an atrocious 14-35 record. It was Hornacek's third season as coach of the Suns, and the former 1992 NBA All-Star failed to lead his team to the Western Conference Playoffs during his tenure there.

Hornacek has also recently been rumored as the favorite to replace Luke Walton as lead assistant coach for the Golden State Warriors, as Walton was recently hired to become the next head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers.

The Knicks have failed to reach the Eastern Conference Playoffs each of the last three seasons, and Phil Jackson's decision regarding who will be the franchise's next head coach is one that will most likely make-or-break his legacy as an NBA executive in the Big Apple.
