With less than five minutes to go in the first quarter of his team's season opener against the Philadelphia 76ers, Oklahoma City Thunder guard Russell Westbrook drove hard to the basket and made a difficult layup accompanied by a foul for a three-point play opportunity.

Since they were the visiting team, not a lot of spectators in attendance were happy to see him convert on that play, and one particular fan made it clear to Westbrook.

After seeing this fan react with both his middle fingers raised on the Thunder superstar, ESPN color analyst Jeff Van Gundy discussed what he thinks is the perfect solution on how players should address these kinds of fans.

Known for being outspoken, Van Gundy could not contain himself and voiced out his disgust over the fan's actions. This is definitely not the first time he has given a controversial statement on national tv, and it can be expected that there will a lot more from him this coming season, especially during ESPN broadcasts.
