When the New York Jets drafted Sam Darnold with the third pick in the NFL draft it left the team with an abundance of quarterback. Along with Darnold the Jets also have Josh McCown, Teddy Bridgewater, Bryce Petty and Christian Hackenberg.

With the abundance of quarterbacks, the Jets are going to have to trade or release two or three of them. According to Ian Rapport of NFL Network, one of the guys drawing interest from other teams is Bryce Petty.

They received calls last year about Petty but with no clear plan for the future, they decided to keep him around in hopes maybe he could be the future quarterback.

That didn't happen though and now that they have Sam Darnold they might be more willing to part ways with him. One of the big sticking points still might be Teddy Bridgewater's knee. If they feel like Bridgewater's knee is good enough to trust him as a backup, Petty could be on the move. If they aren't comfortable with his knee though they might want to keep Petty to maybe be the third quarterback.

Petty was taken in the fourth round by the Jets in the 2015 draft after an impressive Career with the Baylor Bears. In 12 games in his Senior year of college, he threw for 3855 yards and 29 touchdowns. In his career with the Jets though he hasn't lived up to the expectations. He has appeared in 10 games for the Jets in his career having thrown for 1353 yards, four touchdowns, and ten interceptions.
