The U.S. Men's Basketball team squared off last Friday against Spain in the semifinals of the Rio Olympics' basketball tournament.
Many considered the match-up as a battle of two of the best teams in the world, with the Spanish team having a number of current and former NBA players in their roster.
It was also a chance for two players of the Chicago Bulls to play against each other this summer. Jimmy Butler and Team USA got the upper hand against Nikola Mirotic and the Spanish National Team and moved on to the gold medal match, which the Americans eventually won.
During Sunday's awarding ceremonies, the NBA teammates were given the medals they worked hard for. The 25-year-old Spaniard then took to Instagram and shared a photo with Butler where they showed off their hardware:
Yesterday we were opponents, today friends, tomorrow teammates in @chicagobulls Congratulations! pic.twitter.com/UZOurCulJO

In a little over a month from now, they will be reunited once again in the Bulls' training camp.
The fans of Chicago are looking forward to seeing the success the duo had in the summer games translate to more wins this coming NBA season. With the addition of Rajon Rondo and Dwyane Wade to their fold, the team looks to make a lot of noise and give the Cleveland Cavaliers a run for their money in the Eastern Conference.
Wade even sent a Tweet to his soon-to-be teammate and co-Marquette product:
Also big Congrts to my bro @JimmyButler … Another GOLD for @MarquetteMBB

The future certainly seems to be bright for the Bulls and it's only a matter of time for their team to prove if they have what it takes to win a championship.
