The Los Angeles Lakers organization has had a lot of changes in the past few months. Gone are Mitch Kupchak and Jim Buss, while Rob Pelinka and Magic Johnson are set to usher in a new era for the storied franchise.

It also marked the start of a sibling feud when Jeanie Buss‘ brothers, Jim and Johnny, tried to oust her as president of the Lakers, leading her to file a restraining order to prevent that from happening.

After the case was taken to court, Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge David J. Cowan, recently came out with the decision and gave the rights to Jeanie Buss to have control of the organization for life.

Before their father and former controlling owner, Jerry Buss, passed away in 2013, he decided to pass on his rights to Jeanie but still gave his other five children equal shares in the organization. However, a huge turn of events happened when Jim gave up his position from the board of trustees in 2014, and Jeanie took his place. The decision led him to set a three-year deadline on himself to make the franchise a championship contender once again or he would end his tenure as vice president. This summer would've been the end of the timeframe, and he would've resigned anyway, without having her sister fire him earlier this year.

With the Lakers struggling to win games and once again missing out on the playoffs this season, their fans are hoping that the issues with their top brass are already resolved. They're also optimistic over the hiring of Pelinka and Johnson as they believe they will be they key figures in transforming their team to a winning group once again.
