When you see yelling between teammates on a NFL sideline, it's often a sign of dysfunction. That couldn't be any further from the case with the New England Patriots.

With four Super Bowl titles and numerous records under his belt, Tom Brady has earned the right to do pretty much whatever he wants on the sideline. That includes, quite often, scolding his own teammates when they make a mistake.

That's exactly what happened on Monday night, with Brady inducing his wrath on wide receiver Julian Edelman after the two didn't connect on a deep pass. Brady was caught shaking his head while taking with his top target on the outside.

Despite how it looked, Edelman doesn't feel there was any malice on Brady's part. In fact, he believes Brady does it out of love, and it's just a part of their relationship.

From Mike Reiss of ESPN:

“There was a miscommunication. I have to do better and go on from there. That's just ebbs and flows of competitiveness in a crucial game. I know how he is. I'd be a little more scared if he wasn't yelling at me, because if he yells at you, he says he loves you.

“He must really love me, I guess.”

Indeed, Brady and Edelman are close pals.

“I let him take his steam off,” Edelman said. “I'll be that punching bag, as long as it makes him feel good. It's a relationship. It's give and take.”
