The Minnesota Timberwolves are bracing themselves for a huge comeback in the NBA. With a promising young core and the recent hire of Chicago Bulls ex-head coach Tom Thibodeau, things are looking very good for the Timberwolves.

One of the T-Wolves most recent rising stars and Rookie of the Year winner, Karl-Anthony Towns, believes there are great things in the future for Minnesota. In a recent interview with USA Today Sports' Larry Berger, Towns discusses the potential the Timberwolves have in their young core and the possibility of transforming into a title contender in the near future.

Karl-Anthony Towns: “It's a great time to be a Timberwolf fan”

Towns, without a doubt, benefited from having NBA great Kevin Garnett as a mentor during his rookie season, recording averages of 18.3ppg and 10.5rpg. But Karl-Anthony Towns did not just demonstrate his talents during regular season games. He and fellow young rising star Zach Lavine showed off their talents All-Star weekend winning the All-Star Skills Challenge and the Slam Dunk Contest respectively.

After requiring the number one overall draft pick and eventual Rookie of the Year winner Andrew Wiggins from the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Minnesota Timberwolves have made significant moves and draft picks in their rebuilding process. The T-Wolves showed a lot of promise last season and really put themselves on the map when they became one of only two teams to beat the Golden State Warriors in Oakland during the regular season.

There is definitely a new excitement in Minnesota, and Karl-Anthony Towns said it best when he said “It's a great time to be a T-Wolves fan.”
