Detroit Pistons sharpshooter Kentavious Caldwell-Pope was arrested early on Thursday under suspicion of driving while intoxicated, according to a report by ABC-Detroit WXYZ 7 Action News.

The shooting guard was stopped by police for speeding on Auburn Road (a street popular for its bar scene) near Squirrel Road at around 2:50 a.m in Auburn Hills, Michigan. The 24-year-old wing was deemed to be under the influence after a field sobriety test, which ultimately led to his arrest — registering a blood alcohol level of .08 — right on the legal limit.

KCP had plenty of reasons to want a drink after the Pistons' recent struggles, but chose to do so at the wrong time and the wrong place, as the team had lost five straight games and eight of their last nine prior to Thursday night's 90-89 win over the Brooklyn Nets.

The Detroit swingman dressed in time for the game, finishing with 12 points, three rebounds, two assists, and a steal in his team-high 37 minutes on the floor.
