Kevin Durant tried to find the silver lining after the hate came flying his way for leaving the Thunder and joining the Warriors.

Durant has admitted before that the reaction took him somewhat by surprise but he says now that he has gained perspective because of it.

Via The San Francisco Chronicle:

“After stepping back to look at it, I realized it’s not serious at all,” Durant said after practice Friday. “Probably 99 percent of what’s talked about outside of what’s in this facility is BS, especially when it comes down to what’s important in life. This basketball stuff really doesn’t matter when you look at it.”

How else can Durant look at the situation?

KD made the decision to leave OKC for personal and basketball reasons, a right he earned after nine years of service for the franchise that drafted him.

This new chapter has led to a new KD of sorts. We've seen him open up like never before on podcasts with Bill Simmons and we're possibly seeing the best version of Durant on the basketball court when healthy on the juggernaut Warriors.

NBA fans will never totally forget Durant's decision, but if anything KD hopes they learn to understand it over time.
