Thew New York Knicks are desperately looking to bolster their defense after losing eight of their last 10 games, including the last five.

The Knicks have made a habit of trying to outscore the opposition, only holding opponents under 100 points two out of the last 23 games.

While nothing is set in stone, New York is actively looking at Phoenix Suns forward P.J. Tucker — known for his physicality and perimeter defense — as a trade target, according to ESPN's Ian Begley.

The 31-year-old won't be much of an offensive threat, but is very much capable on the other end of the floor, and could help anchor a defense that ranks 26th in efficiency this season.

With just one year, $5.3 million remaining on his contract, Tucker would be a relatively cheap addition for a Knicks team that's already roughly $10 million over the cap.

P.J. Tucker is averaging 6.3 points, 5.4 rebounds, 1.3 steals, and 1.1 assists on 39.9 percent shooting from the floor in 36 games this season.
