The New York Knicks are planning to sign G-League point guard Kadeem Allen to a two-way contract ahead of the NBA's January 15th deadline, according to a report from ESPN's Ian Begley.

Allen, who turns 26 on Tuesday, joined the Knicks for this season's training camp. He later signed an Exhibit 10 contract to play with their G-League affiliate, the Westchester Knicks, where he averaged 13.7 points on 47 percent shooting, 5.7 assists 1.6 steals per game.

According to ESPN, Allen will take the two-way spot that was vacated when the Knicks signed Allonzo Trier to a standard NBA contract in December. When the deal is finalized, he'll have roughly 23 days of NBA eligibility.

After earning Junior College player of the year honors in 2014, Allen spent his final two years of collegiate eligibility with the Arizona Wildcats, where he averaged 9.8 points and 4.0 rebounds per game in his senior campaign. A savvy defender on the perimeter, the North Carolina native earned second-team All-Pac-12 and All-Defensive team honors as a senior. He was later taken by the Boston Celtics with the 53rd overall pick in the NBA Draft.

At 10-33, the Knicks have struggled to find a rhythm this season. They'll look to end a four-game losing streak on Thursday, when they'll take on the Washington Wizards in London. Tip-off inside the O2 Center is set for 3:00 p.m. ET with NBA TV having live broadcast coverage.
