Veteran forward Taj Gibson of the New York Knicks has observed that his new teammates are ‘hungry' to prove the team's doubters wrong.

Gibson inked a deal with the Knicks over the summer and has been spending time connecting with his new teammates. From what he's seeing, this version of the Knicks squad is hellbent on proving everyone wrong. Per Marc Berman of the New York Post:

“I could see right now we got a bunch of hungry guys who want to get out there and compete,’’ Gibson said. “You can tell by the conversations on the text messages and our workouts together. Guys are focused. Guys want to go out and prove people wrong.”

Taj Gibson will be the veteran voice in a locker room full of young studs. Not only do the Knicks have lottery pick RJ Barrett, but they also have Dennis Smith Jr., Kevin Knox, Julius Randle, Elfrid Payton, among others. They will be led by David Fizdale who's entering his second year as the team's head coach.

On paper, the roster looks promising. But it'll be up to the entire team to turn that potential into something special. Gibson, who's entering his 11th year in the league, will play a critical part in being the team's vocal leader. But if his observation rings true, Taj Gibson simply has to guide the relatively young Knicks squad to the right path.
