Shortly after the ejection of New York Knicks star forward Carmelo Anthony in the second quarter or Friday's matchup against the Boston Celtics, his wife, La La Anthony, took to Twitter to express her displeasure with the referee who ejected him, Tony Brothers.
In response to a friend's tweet, La La concluded Brothers had it in for Melo from the start and that it was a personal action rather than a merited pair of technical fouls.
He hates Mel. It's personal. Always has. https://t.co/oHGrrOe30Q

Knicks beat writer Steve Popper was quick to shut that notion down after reporters asked Brothers if he had a history with the Knicks star.
Ref Tony Brothers asked by pool reporter: Do you have a history with Carmelo Anthony: "No."

Brothers also clarified his actions to reporters, leaving no room for doubt.

While Anthony has not talked to the press about the foul (left immediately after the game), some referees are more tolerant than others, and Brothers has been known to have a shorter fuse when it comes to language misconduct.
Hopefully, La La isn't just another in the long chain of wives that are overly-involved in their husbands' career… if it hasn't gotten to that point already.
