Most supporters of the Los Angeles Lakers don't necessarily like former NBA point guard Jason Williams. He was a thorn on their side during his time in the league, particularly during the rivalry era between the Lakers and the Sacramento Kings.

As it turns out, however, Williams appears to have a goal of establishing himself as one of the biggest villains in Lakers franchise history. After recently throwing shade at the late, great Kobe Bryant, Williams has now decided to take aim at another Lakers icon in Shaquille O'Neal. In a recent interview, Williams said that in his mind, he doesn't believe Shaq would be able to dominate in today's NBA:

“Shaq wouldn’t be as dominant as he was back then today,” Williams said. “Just because there would be four or five guys around him that didn’t even have the ball. It’d be tough.”

You have to note that Williams was once teammates with Shaq. They plied their trade together for the Miami Heat for two seasons and both were part of the Heat's historic 2006 championship run. Nevertheless, Williams did not hesitate to underestimate his former teammate in terms of the impact Shaq would have in today's game.

In case you missed it, Williams' shot at Shaq actually comes after he basically disrespected Kobe Bryant by saying that the Black Mamba isn't even in his Top 5 list of the greatest Lakers players of all-time. Earlier in this same interview, Williams tried to defend his claim by expressing how much respect he has for Kobe:

“I said what I said, and I mean what I meant,” Williams said. “Kobe Bryant is the greatest Laker of all time, but that doesn’t mean that he’s the greatest basketball player that ever played for the Lakers. You know what I mean? It’s kind of like if I said D-Wade was better than LeBron. LeBron is a better basketball player than Dwyane Wade, but when you think about the Miami Heat, who do you think of? … [Wade] is the Miami Heat just like Kobe Bryant is the Lakers. And Kobe Bryant will always be when you think about the Lakers. That’s the first person you think of. “

It sort of makes sense, right? In his mind, Williams firmly believes that Kobe has the most impact on the Lakers franchise but at the same time, he isn't a Top 5 player skill-wise.

Now that he's done with Kobe, it's Shaq that's in Jason Williams' crosshairs. I wonder who's next? LeBron James, probably? Or perhaps Magic Johnson?
