Agent Rich Paul of Klutch Sports was a guest on ESPN's “Jalen and Jacoby” show and shed some light on what transpired with Marcus Morris, who ended up signing with the New York Knicks after backing out of his verbal agreement with the San Antonio Spurs.

Morris and Paul, of course, mutually agreed to part ways. Paul, Marcus and Markieff Morris have all shut down the rumor that Paul didn't want Marcus to sign with the Los Angeles Clippers because of LeBron James' presence on the Los Angeles Lakers:

Marcus Morris signed a one-year, $15 million deal with the Knicks. He backed out of his two-year, $20 million contract with the Spurs. The Clippers offered Marcus a three-year, $41 million deal. Morris was reportedly hoping to earn $40 million over two years, but the Clippers couldn't offer that deal since they had to sign Kawhi Leonard to a max contract.

The Clippers moved on from Morris and acquired Maurice Harkless from the Portland Trail Blazers. Marcus Morris will now try to get a long-term deal next summer by playing well this season with the Knicks.

This past season with the Boston Celtics, Morris averaged 13.9 points, 6.1 rebounds and 1.5 assists while shooting 44.7 percent from the field, 37.5 percent from beyond the arc and 84.4 percent from the free-throw line.
