In early December, it was reported that former two-time NBA champion Lamar Odom checked himself into a rehab facility in San Diego to seek treatment. Despite the belief of many, he did not relapse and voluntarily brought himself in to continue being sober for his kids.

After 35 days, Odom has completed the program and has been released by the facility.

Odom described his experience while rehabbing as “life changing” and also said that he plans to do a reality show soon.

Once considered one of the most versatile forwards in the league, the 37-year-old Rhode Island product failed to continue the success he had with the Los Angeles Lakers after playing for the purple and gold for seven years. His stint with the Dallas Mavericks in the 2011-2012 season did not go as planned as he averaged career-low numbers that year. Odom moved on and signed with the L.A. Clippers the following campaign but played even worse than when he was in Dallas.

He failed to generate interest from other NBA teams during the summer of 2013 which marked the start of his battle with depression together with the death of his son in 2006 and the finalization of his divorce with his wife, Khloe Kardashian. In 2015, he was found unconscious inside a legal brothel in Nevada and had to fight for his life following an overdose.

Lamar Odom's fans are hoping that the new year will bring in new hope for him and that he can put all his troubles in the past. With his announcement of possibly having a reality show, it might just be what he needs to start his life over again.
