Marc Gasol, just like his brother Pau, comes from a rare breed of greatly-skilled passers at the center position. His ability to see the floor standing at 7-foot-1 gives him a huge advantage over defenders, picking up holes where he can sneak a pass through, directly leading to a bucket.

The Spaniard did so in spectacular fashion on Friday night against the Houston Rockets, after drawing a double-team from James Harden and Montrezl Harrell at the free-throw line with his back to the basket. Gasol took a slight look to his right and saw a cutting James Ennis, at which point he fired a bounce pass around Harden, directly leading to an uncontested layup.

Very few players in the NBA have the ability to command a double team, let alone use it as an advantage to pick apart a defense attempting to stifle them.

The Grizzlies might be right, now that he is shooting threes and dropping dimes of this quality, he might be a point guard trapped in a center's body after all.
