The Seattle Mariners take on the Minnesota Twins. Our MLB odds series has our Mariners Twins prediction and pick. Find out how to watch Mariners Twins.

The Seattle Mariners and Minnesota Twins have split the first two games of their four-game series. Two teams with winning records are trying to make sure that after playing a few weeks of good baseball, they sustain what they have developed. The Mariners had an 18-game stretch in which they went 13-5 this season. The Twins recently won 12 games in a row. Now they have traded punches in a hard-fought series which promises more drama and interesting plot points.

The Mariners' 10-6 win on Tuesday in Minnesota was a wild ride. Seattle took a 2-0 lead. Then Minnesota went ahead 4-2. The Mariners responded with a Cal Raleigh pinch-hit grand slam for a 6-4 lead in the seventh. The Twins fought back and tied the game in the bottom of the eighth and had the go-ahead run on base, but they couldn't score him. The Mariners roared back in the top of the ninth for four runs and a 10-6 win in a seesaw battle.

Monday belonged to the pitchers in Minnesota's 3-1 win. Tuesday belonged to the hitters in Seattle's triumph. Let's see what Wednesday brings in an American League season which has been filled with surprises through six weeks of action.

Why The Mariners Could Cover The Spread

The Mariners are blessed with elite pitching. The question is if they can hit. Tuesday night, they did, scoring eight runs in the final three innings and posting four runs in two separate innings. Seattle got extra-base hits in high-leverage situations. It's exactly what the organization is looking for. It's a final piece of the puzzle for this team. If it can get timely and loud hits against formidable opponents on the road, Seattle should find itself in the postseason given that its pitching staff is unlikely to falter. After Tuesday's thrilling win, the Mariners will come to the ballpark filled with confidence. They have to like their chances in this game, given that they won't suffer in virtually every matchup of starting pitchers they encounter this season.

Why The Twins Could Cover The Spread

The Twins did give up 10 to the Mariners on Tuesday, but they gave up only two runs through the first six innings. This was an aberrationally bad late-inning game from a Minnesota team which had been very strong in the late innings of games this season. A team which just did win 12 games in a row has had a few hiccups, but on a long-term basis, you're not going to see Minnesota allow tons of runs, and you're not going to see this team implode in the late innings of games. The laws of averages would suggest that Minnesota will contain Seattle's bats in this game and restore order with a win.

Final Mariners-Twins Prediction & Pick

The Mariners' pitching is a constant, but it wasn't all that reliable on Tuesday night. These teams feel like mysteries more than known entities at this point. Pass on this game and look for a betting play somewhere else.

Final Mariners-Twins Prediction & Pick: Mariners -1.5
