Mark Cuban, owner of the Dallas Mavericks, along with TV network ESPN have released separate statements regarding the coverage of the team's home games.

This situation stems from Cuban revoking credentials of Dallas-based journalists Marc Stein and Tim MacMahon on Monday, which was later extended to all ESPN web reporters.

Howard Beck, a senior NBA writer at Bleacher Report, has had some choice words for Cuban in the past due to his drastic measures in efforts to get all his home games covered by ESPN reporters.

There is no word of a re-validation of credentials for ESPN web reporters, including Stein and MacMahon.

While the statement does seem like it's making progress, it is actually not. ESPN has basically said that “…we plan to continue to be present at most Dallas Mavericks home games. When we are not in the building, our game recaps going forward will continue to utilize AP first-person reports,” which is what they were already doing.

The only concession ESPN made was to link to team sites like Mavs.com at the bottom of their recaps, in case a reader is in need of in-depth information.

We're yet to see if Cuban lifts the ban on the reporters or even apologizes for it, one would think he eventually would if ESPN is to cover any of their home games.
