On the heels of the Dallas Mavericks signing former Sacramento guard Seth Curry, brother of Golden State Warriors‘ MVP Stephen Curry, the Kings are looking to explore more family ties.

Sacramento has set their eyes on Mychel Thompson, older brother of Klay Thompson.

The 6-foot-7 Pepperdine product went undrafted as a senior in 2011 and has suited up for three different teams in the D-League, including two stints with the Golden State's affiliate Santa Cruz Warriors.

Thompson averaged 12.6 points, 3.3 rebounds and 1.8 assists in 29.1 minutes in 14 games for Santa Cruz last season — shooting a brutal 39.7-percent from the floor and 32.1-percent from beyond-the-arc.

Seth had a good showing for the Kings in the last few games of the season, which ultimately earned him a two-year, $6 million contract this summer.

If Mychel Thompson were to crack the roster, he'd have to show significant improvement and more consistency as his athletic talents leave a lot to be desired.
