Tyler Ennis left the NBA to play basketball in Turkey. Unfortunately, his season was cut short following a gruesome injury that is reminiscent of the brutal injury Paul George suffered earlier in his career.

Tyler Ennis left the NBA to pursue a career with the Turkish club, Fenerbahce. It's likely that Ennis was hoping to play well in Turkey so he could make a jump back to the NBA at some point. Unfortunately, this injury will delay a comeback to the league and teams will likely be wary of Ennis following this devastating injury.

Ennis spent three seasons in the NBA with four different teams — the Los Angeles Lakers, Milwaukee Bucks, Houston Rockets, Phoenix Suns. He's averaged 4.2 points, 1.3 rebounds, and 1.9 assists per game in 186 career NBA games.

The former Syracuse guard looks to be out for a long period of time as he recovers. Hopefully, he can return to full-strength and resurrect his basketball career. It's not impossible for Ennis to make a comeback. Players like Paul George and more recently, Gordon Hayward have shown that it's possible to return from these types of gruesome injuries.

Of course, it won't be easy for Tyler Ennis, but his career is far from over. Hopefully, he can rehab from this and make it back on to the court soon. Whether that's in the NBA or somewhere overseas is still up in the air, but we can only hope that we see him playing basketball somewhere soon.
