The Phoenix Suns will play the most important game of their season in a matter of hours, hoping to earn a ticket to the NBA play-in tournament right before the playoffs start.

So it stands to reason why their official Twitter page wished everyone good morning, except for the eighth-seeded Portland Trail Blazers and the ninth-seeded Memphis Grizzlies:

The Suns have gone a perfect 7-0 throughout the NBA restart, but even if they notch a perfect sweep of all eight seeding games, they could find themselves out of the running for the postseason.

Phoenix will be heavily dependent on other teams’ results. The Suns need a win over the Dallas Mavericks on Thursday, combined with a Grizzlies loss and a Blazers loss to leapfrog them both into the eighth seed.  A season-finale win, combined with either a Memphis loss or a Portland loss, would secure the ninth seed.

The Mavs have no reason to trot out Luka Doncic since they're locked into the No. 7 slot, which would make this a more winnable game for the red-hot Suns. Meanwhile, the Grizzlies caught a break, as the Milwaukee Bucks will be without star Giannis Antetokounmpo due to a one-game suspension.

The Grizzlies also weren't impressed with the Suns' morning greetings, or lack thereof :

The Blazers also have a winnable game, but they will face a Brooklyn Nets team that has gone 5-2 through the restart with no viable superstar-caliber player suiting up for them.

Phoenix and Memphis (4 p.m. ET) will play in different venues at the very same time, but they will have to wait until the Blazers and Nets (9 p.m. ET) get done playing to know the extent of their fate.

A win or a loss by the 11-seeded San Antonio Spurs is inconsequential for the Suns, but the Cinderella team of the NBA bubble will need to win at all costs to keep the postseason hopes alive in this reckoning day.
