The 2015 NBA Draft has shaped up to be one of the more promising classes in recent years. Furthermore, it has managed to maintain its fair share of intrigue more than two years later, especially for the second and third overall picks in the draft.

Both D'Angelo Russell and Jahlil Okafor have now officially been traded from their perspective teams to the rebuilding Brooklyn Nets. According to Anthony Puccio of NetsDaily.com, Okafor feels both he and Russell are still left with plenty to prove:

The third overall pick enjoyed a far more successful rookie year than Russell did. However, nagging injuries essentially helped eliminate him from the rotation of the promising Philadelphia 76ers. Needless to say, it was not long before the “Free Jah” movement started brewing.

Meanwhile, Russell's career got off to a rough start with the struggling Los Angeles Lakers both on and off the court. Although his scoring approach may not have been a fit in Los Angeles, it was working wonders for the Nets in the 12 games he played to start the 2017-18 NBA season.

Although each may still have a lot left to prove, both of their careers have taken drastic runs of their own. That said, they now find themselves with a shot at redemption in Brooklyn.
