Brooklyn Nets superstar Kevin Durant had a rather humorous response when asked to pick between the fanbases of the Golden State Warriors and Oklahoma City Thunder.

In the “Text Message Talk Show” of Players' Tribune, former NBA player Dorell Wright asked Durant of his preference:

Although Kevin Durant is no longer a member of either team after signing with the Nets in the summer of 2019, he more than likely doesn't want to burn bridges any more than he already has with the two fanbases. He instead went for the savvy public relations move in that exchange, opting to decline to answer.

Durant spent nine seasons with the Thunder before departing the team in a heartbreaking fashion for the Warriors.

What made matters worse was the ending to the storied franchise that he started with. Durant and the Thunder had been eliminated that same year in the playoffs at the hands of the Warriors, which rubbed more salt in the wounds of Thunder fans.

Durant hasn't had an MVP-caliber season since his days in OKC, which could leave many to believe that playing in front of Thunder fans was Durant's preference in hindsight.

Now, the All-NBA talent has teamed up with friend and superstar Kyrie Irving in Brooklyn, where he will try to win over fans quickly after being sidelined through his first season. The Nets' front office obviously believed that a temporarily impaired Durant was well worth the risk, even after knowing he'd be of no use through the first year of his contract.

After also hiring Steve Nash as head coach, the Nets are making moves to put themselves in a great position to win the NBA Finals next season.
