LaVar ball already made it clear that he believes his son, Lonzo, is worth the hype and even has the potential to be better than the league's current stars. He also said that he thinks he is worthy of having his own shoe endorsement deal, while naming Nike as the brand that should extend a $1 billion offer to the former UCLA player.

The company's co-founder, Phil Knight, spoke about the older Ball's comments, via Josh Peter of USA today Sports, and admitted that they are interested in signing Lonzo. However, he added that his father's asking price is steep as he is not yet a proven player in the NBA and only recently declared for this year's draft.

“If he can get it, get it.’’

“It’s a little steep. He’s an awfully great player. Yeah, we have an interest.”

Nike has been known to have some of the best players in the world as their endorsers. In the NBA, LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Paul George and Kyrie Irving are just some of the players they have under contract and usually gets a handful of rookies each year to sign with them.

With the talent Lonzo has, it won't be surprising that he could have a very lucrative contract with a big name shoe and apparel company in the future. However, until he proves he can be as good in the professional league than he was during his high school and college days, he won't receive that big of an endorsement deal yet. It is also worth noting that the amount his father said will be the biggest endorsement deal in NBA history, should he succeed in attaining it someday.
