The Green Bay Packers entered the offseason with quite a few needs on the defensive side of the football and a couple on offense. Brian Gutekunst addressed all of the defensive needs through free agency and the draft by signing Preston and Za'Darius Smith, Adrian Amos, and drafting Rashan Gary and Darnell Savage. He also signed Billy Turner and drafted Elgton Jenkins to beef up the offensive line.

Now, the question becomes, are the Packers set at the wide receiver position? There are still some players on the free agency market that could be a great addition for Green Bay.

Mike Johnson of Pro Football Focus took a look at the teams that would be the best fits for the remaining NFL free agents. Pierre Garcon is one of those free agents and Johnson named the Packers as their best fit.

“However, a team needing receiving depth such as the Packers could still provide a soft-landing spot for Garcon. Their current depth chart at receiver behind Devante Adams is filled with unproven talent with the likes of Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Geronimo Allison, and Equanimeous St. Brown.”

Garcon would be an intriguing pickup for the Packers. He would provide another veteran presence alongside Davante Adams, Geronimo Allison, and the young receivers the team has.

Last season with the San Francisco 49ers, Garcon ended up catching 24 passes for 286 yards and a touchdown. He only played in eight games, which explains the low production.

At 32 years old, Garcon still has a year or two of good football left in him. Health will be the main key for him, but landing in Green Bay could be exactly what the doctor ordered for him.

Aaron Rodgers could use more weapons and it has been a long time since Garcon played with an elite quarterback. This pairing could become lethal.
