Chris Bosh may have played his last game for the Miami Heat.

Heat president Pat Riley revealed that the franchise is no longer working toward a return of Bosh in a Heat uniform. Adding, “We did everything we could.”

Via the Sun-Sentinel:

“We are not,” Riley said in his office at AmericanAirlines Arena. “I think Chris is still open-minded. But we are not working toward his return.

“We feel that, based on the last exam, that his Heat career is probably over.”

Bosh has missed most of the last two seasons dealing with blood clots and most recently, he failed the Heat's preseason physical.

“It's pretty definitive from us, in our standpoint, that this is probably going to be a time where we really have to step back,” Riley said.

“His health, playing and economics — it's been health, health, health,” Riley said before the start of the team's media day at AmericanAirlines Arena. “Whatever the cap ramifications are, they are there, but we never ever thought about that.”

Bosh's career ending with the Heat marks the official end of the Heat's Big Three era, with LeBron James and Dwyane Wade having also moved on. That trio was one of the most successful in NBA history, making four straight NBA Finals and winning two of them.

It will be interesting to see if Bosh ever gets back on the court for a team. He still has a lot left to give in terms of talent, but with health the top priority now, that future looks grim.
