Despite the passing of his grandfather earlier in the day, Patrick Beverley still handled the difficult situation like a true professional, and still opted to play on Sunday in Game 4 of their second round playoff series against the San Antonio Spurs.

During the postgame press conference, the 28-year-old Arkansas product was full of emotions and was visibly fighting through grief. Beverley shared how it was growing up and being raised together by his grandfather with nine other cousins and siblings, He also talked about paying tribute to him, his number one fan, who wore his grandson's jersey “every single day of his life.”

If there's any good news for him on the night, the Rockets were able to even the series at two games apiece. Beverley was also able to play 25 solid minutes and finished with 10 points, four rebounds, and six assists.

Although it's not expected that he'll miss any games, the 6-foot-1 point guard will continue to play with a heavy heart. However, it could spell trouble for the Spurs as he'll only play inspired basketball, which can motivate his teammates to play even better in the series. Should that happen, it will be the perfect way for Beverley to pay tribute to his grandfather, and also help his team advance to the conference finals.
