With just a few weeks left in the regular season, the MVP discussion and debate is nearing an end and for the first time in awhile, there is currently no clear-cut winner.

The two frontrunners are without question James Harden and Russell Westbrook, while LeBron James and Kawhi Leonard each have strong cases to be made as well.

But with Harden and Westbrook both having historical individual seasons, most are trying to choose between them. New Orleans Pelicans head coach Alvin Gentry says that doesn't need to be the case.

Co-MVPs has never happened before and it would stir up quite the craze if it ever did happen. But if there ever were a season for it, maybe this is indeed the one.

Westbrook's triple-doubles are the biggest reason for his case while Harden may very well lead the league in scoring and assists while his Rockets finish with a better record than the Thunder. There might not really be a correct answer and that's why co-MVPs is so intriguing.

You cannot plan for co-MVPs when the voting starts though so it will be interesting to see how close the race is and if Harden and Russ come close to tying for first place.
