President Barack Obama welcomed and presented 21 recipients of the highest civilian award in the United States — the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
Among the honorees, was worldwide basketball idol and former Chicago Bulls shooting guard, Michael Jordan.
The president, a renowned Chicago sports fan, delivered one of his last few speeches of his term in true Obama-like fashion, with eloquence and plenty of wit.
The longtime Bulls fan couldn't pass up the chance of introducing one of his greatest sports idols with a bit of sarcasm sprinkled here and there. While doing a broad introduction for the recipients of the medal, he tossed in “We've got… renowned character actors, like the guy from Space Jam.” to the laughter of the attendees.

He also made sure to get the G.O.A.T. back to earth after mentioning plenty of his career accomplishments, saying he's “more than just an internet meme,” a reference to the very popular “Crying Jordan” meme that pops up every NBA season.

But beside the humor, Jordan was indeed emotional upon receiving the highest of honors from the 44th President.
