With the Sacramento Kings still looking to fill their head coaching vacancy, it would appear a former head coach is still a candidate.

Jason Jones of The Sacramento Bee reports that former Golden State Warriors head coach and current ESPN analyst Mark Jackson is in the mix for the Kings' head coaching position.

Sacramento is an organization currently in flux. Following the DeMarcus Cousins-George Karl drama that followed the team throughout the year, the Kings finally fired Karl following the conclusion of the season. Sacramento went 33-49 in 2015-16, missing the playoffs for the 10th straight season.

While Jackson currently serves as a basketball commentator on television, he has a proven track record as a head coach in the NBA. Jackson is best known for rebuilding the Warriors into a playoff contender, leading them to the postseason during the 2012-13 and 2013-14 seasons.

During his three seasons at Golden State, Jackson had a combined record of 121-109.

The Kings currently have a long list of coaching candidates. They recently interviewed Vinny Del Negro and have interest in Luke Walton, Brian Shaw, Mike Woodson and Kevin McHale.

However, with an uncertain core, it remains to be seen how much interest the aforementioned candidates actually have in the Kings' coaching vacancy.
