The NBA league office is looking into potential ways to discipline Houston Rockets guard Patrick Beverley who approached an Oklahoma City Thunder fan during Game 3 at Chesapeake Energy Arena, according to The Norman Transcript's Fred Katz.
According to a tweet from someone close by responding to Katz, Beverley pointed his finger to a heckling fan and smacked a “fan bammer” off his wife's hand, making contact with her hand in the process.
The incident is believed to have occurred shortly after Beverley picked up his sixth foul with nine seconds to go in the game, having played only 25 minutes due to foul trouble.
The league has been known to take a harsh stance to these type of interactions with fans after the “Malice in the Palace” back in 2004, and it wouldn't surprise to see them crack down on Beverley pretty quickly.
Meanwhile, Twitter had their own opinions when it came to his actions and a possible sanction.

@FredKatz I have tickets on the rail by their tunnel. Last playoffs he started cursing at me coming back after half. So I believe that

@SoonerFletch legally it is assault. It's minor but still if this is tolerated, what's next, Palace Rumble?! @FredKatz @Thunder_Digest
