It probably wasn't the first question Ricky Rubio wanted to hear at the Minnesota Timberwolves media day session on Monday.

“Do you still want to get traded?”

Rumors of Rubio's future in Minnesota being murky started to build this summer. The team drafted Kris Dunn and already has two other young guards in Zach LaVine and Tyus Jones. Maybe there isn't room for Ricky anymore.

Rubio was pretty clear about whether or not he wants to get traded when asked.

Via The Star Tribune:

“I didn’t say I wanted to get traded,” Rubio said. “I want to play with a winner. I think we have the right mentality. It’s changing.”

It certainly is changing in Minnesota. It's much more than just the young guys on the perimeter that's promising.

The Timberwolves look to have a real foundation for their future in Karl-Anthony Towns and Andrew Wiggins. There aren't many better young duos in the league right now.

Rubio has noticed the difference since when he first came to Minnesota.

“I see a lot of hard work,” he said. “I see we’re setting the tone. We’re putting ourselves in a good position to finally make our goal, which is win and make the playoffs. But we have to go step by step. We have the right pieces. We have to put them together now.”
