It was only fitting that a fast-paced, volume-shooting Mike D'Antoni-led team like the Houston Rockets would hoist an NBA-record 50 three-pointers in a game Friday night against the Sacramento Kings.

The Rockets made 21 of them (42 percent for the game) as super-sub Eric Gordon led the charge, attempting 12 in 29 minutes, while “points guard” James Harden and swingman Trevor Ariza hoisted 11 apiece.

Seven of the 10 players that saw minutes on the floor attempted three-point shots, but only Gordon and Ariza made four or more. Here is the shot chart, showing less that only 18 percent of attempts came from the corners.

Kings center DeMarcus Cousins didn't fall short himself, making 5-of-9 from deep on his way to 32 points in a 117-104 loss to the Rockets.
