Houston Rockets power forward/center Kenneth Faried will sit out Game 5 against the Golden State Warriors.

According to ESPN NBA writer Tim MacMahon, Faried will miss Game 5 on Wednesday due to personal reasons.

AT&T SportsNet Southwest's Craig Ackerman (via CBS Sports) also confirmed Faried's absence on Thursday.

Faried is listed as inactive due to personal reasons for Wednesday's Game 5 against the Warriors, Craig Ackerman of AT&T SportsNet Southwest reports.

Faried is slated to miss Wednesday's game due to personal reasons. While it's unclear what exactly Faried's dealing with, his absence won't have much of an impact on the Rockets' rotations considering he's managed just five minutes of run so far in Round 2.

The 29-year-old Faried averaged 4.8 points and 4.0 rebounds in five games against the Utah Jazz in the first round. However, he hasn't been much of a factor against the Warriors.

Faried has been a shade of his old self. During his heyday with the Denver Nuggets, he was a force on the defensive end. He would grab rebounds and defend with reckless abandon. Hence, he earned the nickname “Manimal.”

One good consolation for Faried is the Rockets' postseason run. If Houston continues playing at a high level, it should win its third NBA title. MVP candidate James Harden continues to carry the load for the Rockets.

The current second-round series against the Warriors, the defending champions, is the Rockets' toughest challenge in the postseason. It should go down the wire, for sure.
