Russell Westbrook is having a season for the ages and is on pace to make history by becoming the first player in 55 years to average a triple double for the entire regular season. However, what a lot of people tend to overlook is his high scoring performances this season, as his superb all-around game has been getting much of the attention.

On Wednesday night, the Oklahoma City Thunder point guard added on to the list as he finished the contest with 57 points, 13 rebounds, 11 assists and three steals. It was the 15th game this season where he has scored at least 40 points, moving him to first place in that category in franchise history.

Despite trailing for most of the game, Westbrook willed his team in the final minute of regulation and forced overtime. They outscored the Orlando Magic 12-4 in the extra five minutes and completed the come-from-behind victory, 114-106.

The Brodie's performance on the night also strengthened his case for the MVP award this season, where he is considered one of the favorites to win it along with James Harden of the Houston Rockets. More importantly for him, they have now won their third game in the last four outings and have kept their hopes alive of overtaking the L.A. Clippers and Utah Jazz for fifth or even possibly fourth place in the Western Conference.
