The Washington Wizards have been in the news recently due to the publicized issue between their two star guards, John Wall and Bradley Beal, not getting along well with each other.

Wall admitted to CSN’s Chris Miller about the tension between him and his backcourt mate, but also said that's it's all part of the game and knows they should be able to put their differences on the side:

I think a lot of times we have a tendency to dislike each other on the court, we got to be able to put that to the side. If you miss somebody on one play or don’t have something go right… as long as you come to each other and talk. If I starting arguing with somebody I’m cool. I’m just playing basketball.”

Now, the former assistant coach of the Wizards from 2009-2014 and a former player himself, Sam Cassell, gave his insight on the situation of the two young and promising guards:

“They got to figure it out. I’m not going to [say] who’s wrong or who’s right, but they got to figure it out.”

Cassell has worked with both of them in the past and has a deep understanding of their relationship.

All may be not lost yet as Wall and Beal remain friends off the court. What they have to work on while playing together is what their roles are and how to make the team better. The Wizards are one of the teams with the highest payroll in the league, as such, were not able to add a marquee free agent this summer.

They have already invested a lot on their backcourt tandem in hopes of seeing them lead the team to greater success in the future.

If they won't be able to play cohesively and be detrimental to the team, the inevitable just might happen, sooner rather than later. One of them will be traded. The Wizards certainly don't want to have to deal with that problem.
