The 16th-ranked prospect of the 2018 high school class has announced on Twitter which school he'll play for in college.

Shareef O'Neal, the son of Hall of Famer and four-time NBA champion Shaquille O'Neal, proudly shared that he has committed to the University of Arizona.

His decision somehow came as a surprise, as many expected him to follow his dad's footsteps and play for LSU. However, the 17-year-old will now have the opportunity to make a name for himself in the school that has produced a long list of NBA players who had good careers in the league, such as Andre Iguodala, Mike Bibby, Jason Terry, Richard Jefferson, and Gilbert Arenas (prior to his fallout), among others.

The younger O'Neal has drawn tons of praise for his impressive game. Although he also plays the big man position like his father, he has a totally different skill set than him. Shareef has the versatility to play both forward spots, especially with his ability to shoot from the outside, even as far as beyond the arc. He is also leaner and can make his move to the basket off the dribble.

This is definitely an exciting time for the Wildcats, and O'Neal's announcement will definitely boost their chances of making the NCAA Tournament next year. His arrival will also give the team plenty of attention from the media and could also potentially help bring in more talent to their team.
