While No. 1 overall pick Ben Simmons still remains in recovery from his offseason knee surgery, the plan still remains intact for his future — to be the point guard of the team.

The Philadelphia 76ers are committed to making Simmons yet another version of Giannis Antetokounmpo  at point forward and this time, one with dynamically dazzling playmaking skills.

“When he's ready to go to the court, my intention is to give him the ball and let him be the point guard,” head coach Brett Brown told Keith Pompey of The Philadelphia Inquirer. “That's the plan. That doesn't just happen. It takes a little bit of time to introduce him.”

From his time in high school to his college exploits at LSU, Simmons has demonstrated an innate instinct for finding the open man and making plays on all sides of the court. At 6-foot-10 and 250 pounds, the 20-year-old could become one of the league's most exciting products if he can refine his rough edges and get a consistent jump shot to go with his natural abilities.

If he can pull off these kinds of gems on the regular, it won't be long until Simmons ascends into the ranks of the NBA's elite playmakers.
