The Philadelphia 76ers are on the hunt to add to their roster and are expected to be one of the more aggressive teams around trade deadline time. Unfortunately for Corey Brewer, who recently spent some time with Philly, this may mean laying low for a little bit until he can return to the court for NBA basketball. According to ESPN’s Bobby Marks, the 76ers are looking to keep open the vacant roster spot they gained upon the expiration of Brewer’s 10-day contract running its length, until after the trade deadline.

During his 10-day contract with the 76ers, Brewer played seven games for the team, putting up averages of 7.6 points, 2.4 rebounds, 1.7 steals, and 1.4 assists in 20 minutes per game. He brought some extra energy to the court for a team that could use all the depth help they could get. His presence was felt most in a game against the Houston Rockets on Jan. 21, where the Sixers claimed a 28-point victory at home and Brewer played some interesting defense against the reigning MVP, James Harden.

As for Philadelphia, there are many options in play for the team as they seek to improve their roster. Names like Dwayne Dedmon and Nikola Mirotic have been thrown around as potential pieces available via trade. There is even a chance they aim to replicate the success they found last year in the buyout market with the signings of Ersan Ilyasova and Marco Belinelli, and wait to bring in help until after the deadline.
