San Antonio Spurs power forward LaMarcus Aldridge is the first Spur since David Robinson to score 48-plus points twice in a season, per Basketball Reference.

Aldridge put up 48 points on Sunday against the Boston Celtics in the Spurs' 115-96 win. The seven-time All-Star scored 56 points back on Jan. 10 versus the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Aldridge is having another stellar season for the Spurs, who are 43-31 on the season, which is good for eighth place in the Western Conference standings.

In 73 games this season for San Antonio, Aldridge is averaging 21.3 points, 9.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.3 blocks per contest. The 33-year-old is shooting 51.8 percent from the field, 28.6 percent from beyond the arc and 85.5 percent from the free-throw line.

Aldridge has 27 double-doubles on the season. He's second on the team in scoring behind shooting guard DeMar DeRozan.

Anytime you can put your name next to David Robinson, you are doing something right. Robinson is one of the best players in NBA history. The Hall of Famer averaged 21.1 points and 10.6 rebounds during his legendary career and won two championships with the Spurs.

The Admiral was the 1995 MVP and the 1992 Defensive Player of the Year.

A lot of pundits doubted San Antonio would be able to make the playoffs this season since Manu Ginobili, Tony Parker and Kawhi Leonard are all gone. Head coach Gregg Popovich, Aldridge and DeRozan, however, have proved all the critics wrong.
