The Dallas Stars will attempt to send the defending Stanley Cup champions home as they face the Vegas Golden Knights on Friday for Game 6 of the First Round. We're here to share our NHL odds series, make a Stars-Golden Knights Game 6 prediction, and pick while showing you how to watch.

The Stars defeated the Golden Knights 3-2 in Game 5 to put the defending champions on the brink of elimination. Initially, the Knights struck first when Mark Stone tipped a shot from Noah Hanifin to put a powerplay goal in for a 1-0 lead. The Stars answered back when Evgenii Dadonov capitalized off a beautiful pass from Logan Stankoven to tie it. Then, Matt Duchene tipped in a rebound past Adin Hill to give the Stars the lead. But the Knights responded when William Carrier stuffed it past goalie Jake Oettinger to tie the game.

The Stars put in the decisive goal in the second period when Jason Robertson plucked his own rebound into the net past Hill to give his team the advantage. Eventually, they held on to win. Oettinger finished the game with 25 saves. Conversely, Hill had 22 saves while allowing three goals.

The Stars were amazing in the faceoff circle, winning 55 percent of the draws. Significantly, the Stars went 2 for 4 on the powerplay while the Knights went 1 for 3. Vegas had 47 hits, while Dallas had 35. Also, the Knights blocked 20 shots while the Stars blocked 15.

Why The Stars Will Cover The Spread/Win

The Stars are one win away from putting the champs away. Of course, that's easier said than done. But the Stars have won both games in Sin City in this series. Now, they hope to do it again.

Miro Heiskanen has been a great defenseman, with one goal and four assists. Ultimately, he hopes to keep his production up. Robertson has three goals and two assists. Significantly, he is all over the ice and will be a threat anywhere and everywhere. Wyatt Johnson has three goals and three assists in this series. Therefore, look for him to be a threat.

Jamie Benn has been a very productive player in this series. Amazingly, he gave the Stars even more chances with his prowess in the faceoff circle, where he won eight draws and lost just three. Duchene finally got on the scorecard. Also, he won three draws and lost just one.

The defense and goaltending have tightened up a little. Significantly, he is 3-2 with a 2.31 goals-against average with a save percentage of .911. Look for Oettinger to continue to make good plays while the defense tries to prevent easy shots.

The Stars will cover the spread if they can find some scoring chances and make things happen. Then, they need to defend the net well.

Why The Golden Knights Will Cover The Spread/Win

The Golden Knights had this series in hand when they led 2-0. Since then, they have struggled, losing three in a row, and now face the prospect of bowing out of the playoffs.

Jack Eichel is still doing well, with three goals and four assists. Unfortunately, his regular-season struggles in the faceoff circle returned, as he won just three draws and lost seven in Game 5. Where in the world is William Karlsson? He still has not scored a single point in these playoffs. The Golden Knights need him to score to have any chance.

Brayden McNabb has two goals and three assists in this series. Therefore, expect him to be a force on the ice. Jonathan Marchessault has two goals and two assists. Yet, he has not been productive recently. Mark Stone notched a goal in Game 5 and now has two in this series. Despite that, he seems slower and not producing at the level we are accustomed to.

The Knights started Hill after Logan Thompson lost the past two games. Now, there are questions to what they will do in Game 6. Thompson is 2-2 with a 2.35 goals-against average and a save percentage of .921.

The Golden Knights will cover the spread if they can convert their special teams chances. Then, they need to cut down the rebounds they allow to the Stars.

Final Stars-Golden Knights Game 6 Prediction & Pick

The Stars have a golden opportunity. Can they finish off the Golden Knights? Here is an amazing stat: three of the five games have had five or fewer goals. This series, for the most part, has had excellent goaltending and defense. Will it happen again in the desert? We believe it will. The Stars and Golden Knights will do everything to tighten the hatches. Defense rules the day as the under hits.
