Kevin Durant shocked the sports world Monday, as he officially joined forces with the Golden State Warriors. While many never believed that the former MVP would leave Oklahoma City, apparently his decision has been locked in for a while now.

Kudos to KD for enjoying a few of the spoils from free agency royalty. Some may wonder how he was sold on the bay area, and who's responsible. It's been no secret how Durant's peers have recruited him to join their squads, dating as far back as last season. But when your Golden State, your dialogue with one of the game's top elite scoring threats carries a little more weight.

There's going to be a whole lot of splash in Golden State. A new era begins…

Draymond Green, Klay Thompson, head coach Steve Kerr, and reigning league MVP Steph Curry have all been on the recruitment trail for Durant. Last season, there were reports of Steph Curry leading the pack of Warriors who were appealing to Durant during a time when Golden State was reeling off win, after win en route to a record 73-9 regular season campaign. While Draymond Green has been the most public with his desire to have KD as a teammate, Steph Curry has reportedly been Durant's biggest fan throughout the 2015-2016 season.

The two are also very good friends off the court. Curry understands the amount of pressure off of his shoulders playing alongside Durant, and the Warriors brand of basketball presents KD with his best chance to win a ring. Or two. Or three! Yes, they are thinking dynasty in Oakland. Welcome, Kevin Durant, to the house that the splash brothers built. Is the league ready for the “splash triplets”?
