Back-to-back MVP Stephen Curry will continue to help the United Nations Foundation's Nothing But Nets campaign by donating three life-saving bed nets for every three-pointer he makes this season.

The 2016-2017 campaign will mark the fifth-straight year the Golden State Warriors‘ point guard is assisting the charity in their battle against Malaria. The team has also pledged to match the donations their superstar will make.

With his record-breaking performance last year, Curry was able to donate 1,206 bed nets after making 402 three-point baskets. The Warriors also gave the same number to the noble cause.

The three-time All-Star talked about what the fight against Malaria meant to him. Per the Warriors' official website:

“Malaria continues to impact so many families and children throughout Africa and I’m grateful that I’m in a position to help support and raise awareness for Nothing But Nets. This is the fifth consecutive season of my Three For Three Challenge and look forward to continuing to help save lives one net at a time.”

Nothing But Nets Director Margaret Reilly McDonnell also spoke about how she feels seeing the cause grow and the possibility of ending the life-threatening disease that comes from a mosquito bite.

“Together with our UN partners and programs like the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, and the President’s Malaria Initiative, we’ve made amazing progress against malaria. It’s really exciting that we could be the generation to end malaria for good.”

The disease is not only rampant in Africa but also in other parts of the world, and in order to combat it, more donations and awareness campaigns are needed. As it stands, the current statistics show that a child dies every two minutes due to it. Curry even saw for himself the battle the volunteers of the U.N. are facing in Tanzania when he helped deliver nets to families who live there back in 2013.
