Stephen Curry might have set a visible trend of pulling up from wherever he wishes, a knock-down, pick-your-spot deadeye shooter that can heat up at any time as he's done so with the Golden State Warriors through recent memory.

Curry was shown a highlight reel of UCLA star freshman Lonzo Ball's younger brother, LaMelo, as he pointed to the floor and called his shot before heaving a jumper right before the half-court line and draining it to the oohs and aahs of the crowd.

“That was some confidence right there,” Curry said. “The fact that he made it, I wonder if he’s done it before and missed it. It’s the highlight-driven generation, so that right there was pretty unbelievable, though. For him to call his shot like Babe Ruth and knock it down and act like nothing happened. So shoutout to him.”

While more NBA stars have grown adept to taking longer three-point shots like Damian Lillard has the past two seasons, it is actually much more common for team stars to take half court shots during the AAU circuit, though it's more frowned upon to do it at a high school setting.

Ball pointing to the spot was the ultimate showmanship, letting the defense know that's the spot they'll need to pick him up at if they hope to stop him.

New York City playground legends like Stephon Marbury and Sebastian Telfair have been known to do this during high school games, and it seems the trend has caught up on the west coast as well, as Ball has the Chino Hills Huskies at an undefeated 14-0 through the season after beating Woodcreek High by a score of 108-93.
