The Oklahoma City Thunder‘s fourth-quarter rally against the Dallas Mavericks has built undoubtable momentum for the team going forward, bouncing back from a double-digit loss to the Houston Rockets and tallying the team's fifth win in the last seven games.

Center Steven Adams was aware of the significance of their 14-point rally at the end of the game, with 12 of the points belonging to MVP candidate Russell Westbrook. The cheerful big man wasn't shy of admitting just how important the win was for the team going forward.

“Pretty good, mate,” Adams told ESPN's Royce Young. “Puts a bit of lead in the pencil.”

The Thunder have penciled their way into the sixth spot in the West after the Mavs blew a 13-point lead with four minutes to go in the game. OKC's schedule only gets easier from here, facing only three playoff teams in the last nine games of the season.

Westbrook's late-game heroics only build his MVP-caliber season, making a case of just how valuable his presence is to this team.

The Thunder will play five of their last nine games on the road, including a four-game road trip before finishing up the season finale at home against the Denver Nuggets.
