The Phoenix Suns continue to bolster their backcourt beyond Chris Paul and Devin Booker. On Monday, the Suns agreed to a deal with guard Langston Galloway, according to Mike Scotto of HoopsHype and USA Today.

Before coming to the Suns, Galloway had the finest season of his career with the Detroit Pistons in 2019-20. The 29-year old averaged 10.3 points per game — his highest since his rookie year (2014-15) with the New York Knicks — and shot a career-best 39.9% on nearly five three-point attempts per game.

After spending his first two seasons in New York, Galloway had brief stints with the New Orleans Pelicans and Sacramento Kings before three solid seasons in Detroit. Now he's with the Suns.

Details of Galloway's deal have yet to be reported. On Saturday, the Suns committed their full mid-level exception to sign Jae Crowder (three years, about $30 million). On Sunday, the Suns signed guard E'Twaun Moore for one year and $2.4 million.

Signing Galloway is another step the Suns have taken to improve their roster.

“Langston is a pro’s pro,” Pistons head coach Dwayne Casey said about Galloway, via NBA.com. “He’s one of our leaders. He’ll go and quietly talk to the young guys and tell them what they’re doing wrong. He’s not loud – you don’t hear him coming – but he is a pro’s pro and I respect him and have all the confidence in the world in Langston.”

Last week, Phoenix acquired 10-time All-Star Chris Paul from the Oklahoma City Thunder for Kelly Oubre Jr., Ricky Rubio and two first-round picks.

Galloway should provide the Suns steady shooting and perimeter defense.

Phoenix has guards Jevon Carter and Cameron Payne on the roster, and the organization recently signed 3-and-D off-guard Ty-Shon Alexander, an undrafted rookie out of Creighton, to a two-way contract.
