The Minnesota Timberwolves planned to give their fans some much-needed encouragement for next season, presenting a brand new logo, but were accidentally scooped by the Minnesota Star Tribune earlier in the day, who leaked it in their website.

Whoops!
The Wolves made a crisper, more refined arrangement of their prior logo, which has the wolf looking into the opposite direction with trees in the background.
After going back to all previous logos and revising them, the organization came to the conclusion that none of them was quite right or indicative of the people in Minnesota, their employees, their players, or the road in which they hope to stay on.

The logos were either too nice or too fierce and always overly-cartoony — making a complete re-design of their logo a must before going into next season, according to ESPN's Zach Lowe.
Rodney Richardson, owner of Mississippi-based RARE Design, was tasked with coming up with the new logo, for which he used this slogan:
“With fierce determination we will defend, and we will devour. We will be smarter. We will be stronger. We will be together. We will be … a Pack.”
