Washington Wizards big man Ian Mahinmi made guards everywhere question whether or not they should ever get in the way of a center trying to throw one down on Wednesday night, posterizing Detroit Pistons guard Langston Galloway in transition:

Now, to be fair, I'm not sure how much satisfaction Mahinmi should gain out of this. After all, he is 6-foot-11 and Galloway is 6-foot-2. There is no reason why Mahinmi shouldn't be dunking on 6-foot-2 guards.

Also, in defense of Galloway, he was trying to take the charge. (Although, he got there a bit too late and was probably in the restricted area, so he is actually lucky he didn't get called for a blocking foul.)

Regardless, this has basically been the highlight of Mahinmi's season thus far, as he came into Wednesday night's action averaging 3.6 points and 3.2 rebounds per game.

Such has been the case for Mahinmi since arriving in Washington via a four-year, $64 million deal in 2016, which has been arguably one of the worst contracts in the league during its current span.

The Wizards paid Mahinmi based on the strength of his 2015-16 campaign in which he registered 9.3 points and 7.1 boards a night across 72 starts for the Indiana Pacers.

However, his best marks with Washington came during his first year with the club when he recorded just 5.6 points and 4.8 rebounds per contest in an injury-plagued 2016-17 campaign.

The Wizards went into the game against the Pistons with a record of 13-21 and have easily been one of the league's most disappointing teams all season long.
